Cheryl Cole has admitted that she is “terrified” to be embarking on a solo pop career. The Girls Aloud singer and X Factor judge told Sugar that she has always relied on her bandmates in the past. Cole said: “The thing is, for the past seven years the other girls have been my safety blanket. If I forget my words on stage or something, there’s always four other girls that can pick it up. “Now I’m completely on my own. I wake up in the middle of the night sick with pure fear going, ‘What am I doing?’” She added: “Girls Aloud is becoming a bit too ‘normal’. I need a new challenge, a kick up the bum. “It’s good to feel frightened. Being out of your comfort zone isn’t always a bad thing.” Cole releases single ‘Fight For This Love’ on October 19 and her solo debut album Three Words on October 26. |

X factor queen Cheryl Cole will thrill Irish fans with a sizzling performance in Dublin. The Girls Aloud star is one of the big name acts performing at the Cheerios Childline Concert in the O2 in two months time. Cheryl, who is the wife of soccer star Ashley Cole, will be taking to the stage in the Irish super-venue as she makes her solo debut. The popular singer has made the most of her time in the X Factor limelight after releasing her first single without her girlband pals entitled Fight for this Love. It’s due to be released on October 19 followed by her new album Three Words, which will then see her embarking on a whirlwind promotional tour. “Cheryl’s very keen to make it on her own and prove she doesn’t need the other girls to make it big in the charts. She loves Ireland and always has a great time over here and would naturally leap at the chance to perform at the charity concert as a solo star,” said an insider. |

X Factor judge Cheryl Cole is worried that Dannii Minogue could win their “style wars” battle. Instead of scrapping over their acts, the girls are battling to outdo one another in the fashion stakes. So far Aussie beauty Dannii, 37, is winning after opting for a bobbed hairdo for the show’s auditions. A show source said: “Cheryl is surprised by Dannii’s new look and how many compliments she’s getting from viewers. “Everyone keeps saying how fabulous she looks. “Simon’s also made sure she gets more air time after viewers complained that Cheryl was getting all the attention last series.” Now Girls Aloud babe Cheryl, 26, wants to up her game ahead of the live shows. She is contemplating a whole new image change to dazzle fans on the ITV show. |

Cheryl Cole has admitted that she would love to join the celebrity trend and have her own perfume. The Girls Aloud beauty, who was recently chosen to be the new face of L’Oreal in the UK, says that she would love the idea of having her own line of beauty products, and in particular – to have her own fragrance on the shelves. “I would love to have my own beauty products,” she told Hello! magazine. “I think the most special thing you could have is your own custom-made personal perfume. It must be amazing to have your own unique smell.” And Cheryl added that she felt very honoured to have been asked to be the face of L’Oreal’s new hair products, as she admits that having a good hair day can really lift her mood. “I was so flattered when they asked me – I thought: ‘They can’t be serious!’ Then I found out it was for a new hair range and I thought it was perfect, because I’m the type of girl who, if I am having a bad hair day then I am having a bad day full stop. “So anything that solves my hair problems is brilliant.” |

Pop star CHERYL COLE cringes when she recalls her run-in with BEYONCE backstage of last year’s (08) THE X FACTOR finale – because she bombarded the superstar with compliments. The Girls Aloud, who is a judge on the British singing competition, navigated 2008 champion Alexandra Burke to win the final, and was overcome with emotion when she watched her protege get to duet with the Crazy in Love hitmaker. And, despite telling herself she would keep her cool in front of Beyonce, Cole admits she got carried away in the moment when she came face to face with the diva. She tells Hello! magazine, “I am obsessed with Beyonce, I promise you. When I met her I turned into an absolute gabbling (chatting) fool; I was so embarrassed. She came to film the finale of X Factor, so I knew she was coming to sing with Alexandra Burke. I was watching rehearsals crying my eyes out because everything was coming to an end, Alexandra was incredible and then Beyonce turned up. She didn’t have a scrap of make-up on, her hair was pulled back into a ponytail, she wore a plain white t-shirt and skinny jeans with heels, and she was unguarded and encouraging. “So by the time it got got me to meet her I had had a glass of wine, I was a mess from crying, and then I just gabbled (chatted) this whole load of rubbish: ‘You are what every woman should aspire to be, you are amazing, I love you!’ “Her mum was there and she must have thought I was a weirdo. I wanted to be cool and all like, ‘Hi B, how’s it going?’ But oh no!” |

Cheryl Cole has got the hair we’re arguably most jealous of in the whole world at the moment, so it’s really no surprise that she was asked to sign a deal with L’Oreal Paris UK. As Cheryl explains in a new inteview with Hello!, having a bad hair day is the same as having a bad day full stop to her, and we couldn’t agree more. Every day is a bad day for heatworld, by the way, so you can imagine the state of our hair. Barnets aside, Cheryl admits she didn’t ask husband Ashley what he thought before she dyed her tresses red recently, laughing, “Nooo, don’t be daft, he is a bloke – I don’t care what he thinks!” And how does she keep her hair looking so lush all the time? “I have hair extensions that are the same length as my hair but for extra body,” she admits. “They help my hair to stay looking good without constantly needing to be done. I couldn’t think of anything worse than being on a judging panel for 14 hours a day and constantly having to have my hair re-bouffed.” As well as having a love affair with her hair, Cheryl also admits to not one, but two girl crushes. First of all she says of actress Megan Fox, “[She is] so beautiful. I love what she wears and oh my God, she’s so perfect looking!” She saves her real admiration for another lady, however, going on to admit, “I’m obsessed with Beyonce. When I met her I turned into an absolute gabbling fool; ‘You are what every woman should aspire to be, you are amazing, I love you!’ I was so embarrassed!” We love that Cheryl gets all gushing and embarrassing just like us. We bet loads of famous men have the same problem when they meet her for the first time. Catch the full interview with Cheryl Cole in this week’s Hello!, on the shelves right now. |

Cheryl Cole’s first campaign for L’Oréal Paris has landed – and unsurprisingly, she looks her gorgeous and glossy best. Putting that famous mane to good use, the Girls Aloud beauty stars in ads for Elvive Full Restore 5 – L’Oréal’s first hair care range that targets British women’s four key hair issues: weak, limp, lifeless, dull and straw-like locks. As for Mrs C, and not only does she show off her flawless tumbling ‘do, she looks positively radiant in a little red dress and glowing make-up. Exclusive behind-the-scenes shots reveal the starlet getting ready for her close-up, as she prepares to utter the iconic, ‘Because you’re worth it.’ The latest solo project for the singer, the campaign lands as Cheyl’s first ever solo single, Fight for this Love is dominating the airways, ahead of the October release of her debut album – 3 Words. |
